Book Club 📚

Today in Book Club the children brought in their own books from home and confidently stood up to share them with their class. They spoke about why they chose their book, what they enjoyed about it and why they would recommend it to others. we then read a chapter from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone where Ruben’s Hagrid tells Harry Potter that he is a wizard. To deepen our understanding, we took turns in the “hot seat”, where pupils became characters such as Harry and Hagrid while their classmates asked thoughtful questions about their feelings and reactions. The children throughly enjoyed the session and demonstrated excellent speaking, listening and questioning skills throughout.
