This week in Book Club, we explored The Little Matchstick Girl. The children took turns reading aloud, showing confidence and lovely expression as they brought the story to life.
Afterwards we discussed the themes of kindness, empathy and the importance of noticing when others might need help. The children shared thoughtful reflections about how the girl in the story was feeling and how we can show compassion in our lives.
It was a gentle and meaningful session and the children remained engaged throughout.
