Today in Book Club we explored the famous Sorting Hat scene from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s stone. The children thought about the different qualities linked to each Hogwarts House- such as bravery, loyalty, and cleverness and ambition- and reflected on which qualities they see in themselves. Each child designed and decorated their own “sorting hat” writing their personal strengths inside.
We enjoyed sharing thoughts about the books the children took home last week, before choosing a new one to read for next week. It was a wonderful session of reading, creativity, and self-reflection!
