FAO Primary 4 Parents - 'Do this in Memory programme' Mass dates

6th Jan 2022

Parochial House, 42 Abbey Street, Armagh

6 January 2022

Dear Principal,

As a new year begins, I write to ask if you would kindly inform all Primary Four Pupils and their parents of five special celebrations that will be taking place in the coming months as part of the children’s preparation for First Holy Communion.

Whilst every year is important in the growth and the development of children, primary four is a very important year and for that reason, our parish hopes to offer a few celebrations from the “Do this in Memory programme”, to help support the young children during this special year in their lives. This parish based programme will take place in St Patrick’s Cathedral at 6pm on the following dates and given the ongoing Covid restrictions, pupils and their parents are invited to join for the programme via the Cathedral Webcam.

(Sat 22 January, Sat 12 February, Sat 19 March, Sat 23 April, Sat 18 June)

It’s hoped that a small number of Primary Four children will be in attendance on each of the evenings to lead the different parts of the Mass and to ensure that it’s a special experience for all who are joining virtually. The priests of the parish will be in touch with the different schools in the parish in advance to arrange that.

Copies of Grapevine (Newsletter for Families preparing for First Holy Communion) will be made available to all schools in the coming days and it would be appreciated if Class Teachers would make these available to all Primary Four Pupils before each of the five celebrations.

I’m conscious that many children haven’t been to Church for a long time as a result of the current pandemic and it’s hoped that these five gatherings will help support the children all the more in this special year in their lives. I would be grateful if you would also inform all Class Teachers of these dates and again, the priests of the Parish thank you for your ongoing commitment and support and we wish you every blessing in your work in the new year to come.

Yours sincerely

Rev Peter McAnenly  Adm
