P3/4 trip to Benburb Priory
On Wednesday 1st October P3/4 went to Benburb Priory as part of our WAU topic ‘Our Community and School’. We had a fantastic day. We did some art activities, had a snack before we went exploring the grounds. We got to meet Catherine of Argyle, a Queen of Benburb Castle who read a story about the history of the Castle. We met a Queen Fairy who guided us around the Fairy trail with a fairy chant. We met Vera the beekeeper who told us all about bees and how they build honeycomb in the hive. She also told us the importance of protecting ourselves around bees. We went to the games room and played floor games in our groups which was great fun. At the end, we went into the Chapel where the Saint Carlo Acutis relic was present and we all said prayers together. Thank you to all the volunteers at the Benburb Priory for taking great care of us and to Benburb Shop for treating the children with a lovely goodie-bag. Children and staff had a fantastic day.
